The name of this pendant lamp says it all, because its shape and form are strongly reminiscent of the moon, our earth's satellite. TRABANT has received several awards for its uniqueness.
The designer, Joachim Manz, deliberately refrained from mechanically compacting the concrete for this luminaire, so that the very smooth spherical surface of the hand-made concrete luminaire is irregularly interspersed with blowholes and air pockets. This different, lively surface texture makes each luminaire unique.
With his luminaires, the artist creates haunting plays of light that dissolve the boundaries between form and space and also places sculptures in public spaces, builds architectural miniatures and designs objects for use.
TRABANT 2 is designed in such a way that a concrete sphere hangs from a thin wire cable, with one segment on the underside replaced by a high-quality glass lens (matt or clear) with the same curvature. In the upper section of the unique concrete lamp, the adjustable version has a slot with space for the fixing cable, which allows the luminaire to be tilted and rotated.

Each luminaire is consecutively numbered and bears the TECNOLUMEN signet.
